"It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for – and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing. It doesn’t interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool – for love – for your dreams – for the adventure of being alive."

Bio

Heather Boddy is an actress-gone-fitness professional in NYC.

Originally from Cincinnati, OH (where the chili is great and the ice cream is Graeter’s) she moved to NYC 10 years ago to pursue a career in acting. After having a love-hate relationship with fitness (mostly hate - attempting to shrink herself to get acting roles) she finally found a fitness program that made her feel GOOD in her body rather than punish it. At this time, she had also started reading the She-Hulk comic books and it changed her entire mindset around fitness - from that of punishment and wanting to change her body, to one of self-love, self compassion, and seeing what she was capable of. Finding this newfound love for movement and herself, Heather was determined to teach others that they could do the same. She got certified to become a group fitness instructor and the rest is history.

Her strong background in theater and improvisation make her an excellent and creative fitness instructor. She teaches live classes at gyms across New York City but also has her own workout program called Geeknasium where she teaches workouts themed in pop culture and fandom (fitness for nerds). Check out the Geeknasium workout library here

If being in the fitness world has taught her anything, it's that the language used to market "health," "fitness," and "wellness" can be very toxic. Heather’s goal with fitness is to make it feel GOOD for each and every individual. She does her best to create a safe space where you can be your most authentic self, celebrate who you are, and also celebrate the geeky things you love all while cultivating a community of inclusivity, strength, confidence, and self-love.

In addition to acting and fitness, Heather is also a model and has been featured in SELF Magazine, Cosplay photography books, and in advertising for New York Sports Clubs. Contact her for modeling inquiries whether they are fitness, cosplay, or otherwise!

She is also a public speaker and host, from speaking at live events and panels at conventions all over the nation, to hosting trivia locally in NYC.
