"It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for – and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing. It doesn’t interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool – for love – for your dreams – for the adventure of being alive." - Oriah Mountain Dreamer

Bio

Heather Boddy is a witty wallflower with a wacky side: think America Ferrera, Mae Whitman, and Jillian Bell. She is a master collaborator who thrives in ensemble settings working in improvisation, sketch, script development, and storytelling groups across NYC.

Heather has a B.A. in Theatre with a minor in Arts Management from Miami University of Ohio. Her Theatre degree contains a focus in Performance, Shakespeare, and Directing. However, her classical training began in High School, where she was an elite member of the School for Creative and Performing Arts' Drama Ensemble. While in college she studied Alexander technique with Julia Guichard, was a member of Sketched Out (a campus sketch & improvisation group), and she directed a body-positive production of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Since arrival in NYC, Heather has studied commercial technique with Scott Wojcik, on camera improvisation with Brette Goldstein, and is working up the improvisation ladder at Upright Citizens Brigade training center.

Heather has recently had roles in crime reenactments, regional plays, tv pilots, and screenplays. She can be seen on Netflix playing the Role of Laurie in The Hunt With John Walsh. One of her recent favorite roles was Annie Cabbage in Code Name: Moses where she played an aloof young woman in a comedic screenplay about young Ben Franklin. Her favorite on-stage roles include Corin in As You Like it, Nurse in Euripides' Medea, and Hattie in Women of Lockerbie. She also has voiceover experience, most recently voicing the Tinker characters for the video game Cairn.

Heather was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio where the chili is great and the ice cream is Graeter's. In Cincinnati, Heather worked and volunteered with Q102 Radio, Bunbury Music Festival, and the Keep A Breast Foundation. She was a teaching artist with the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company and participated in several Cincinnati Fringe Festival productions.

Heather is a child at heart so it's no surprise that she has over 10 years of childcare experience. She is also a HUGE nerd about a lot of things: music (LOVES concerts, singing, dance parties, and discovering new bands), mystical stuff (think Harry Potter and Unicorns), bright colors (Lisa Frank and rainbows), comic books (She-Hulk is her dream role), puppies (grew up with them and walks them as a day job), FOOD (mostly peanut butter and cheese but not together... or maybe?), and Body Positivity (see "Love Your Bodd")! Oh, and October is her favorite but NOT because it's her birthday month, promise :)
