Here you will find answers to Frequently Asked Questions about the Geeknasium Test Group.
What is the duration of the test group and the frequency of the workouts?
You have agreed to a 4 week test group plus one “prep” week, in which we will discuss the upcoming workouts. The prep week begins on Monday, April 1. We will use this week to learn about the expectations of the Geeknasium community and get an understanding of how the following 4 weeks will work.
The workouts begin on Monday, April 8th. Each workout is about 30mins long and will be released 3x a week, on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Monday = Cardio, Wed = Strength, and Friday = Core/Flexibility. You can complete these 30 min workouts in your own time, as long as you get them done and provide feedback before the next week begins.
Essentially, your first workout begins on Monday, April 8 and your last workout will be on Friday, May 3rd. Once all workouts are completed, we will have a “wrap up” discussion, likely on Sunday, May 5 or some time that week. If you are comfortable sharing a testimonial, these will be used to promote the workout program once it is launched. After the final feedback is received, your commitment to the test group is over.
Does the Geeknasium Test Group Cost Money?
Yes it costs $12 to join the Test Group. As a thank you for providing feedback, all Test Group Participants will get a special discounted rate when the Geeknasium Workout Program launches!
How do I access the workouts?
Geeknasium will post the workout to the private Facebook group that only Test Group members have access to.
I won’t be able to do the workout on the day it is released. Is that a problem?
No, don’t worry if you can’t do the workout the exact day it is posted. Do it on your own time, when it feels comfortable for you. All that we ask is that you complete the workout before the beginning of the following week’s workouts. For example, Geeknasium releases a workout on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. We request that you do the workouts and provide feedback before the next workout is posted on Monday.
What if I cannot execute the workouts in the videos? Are there appropriate modifications?
I will do my best to provide “options” and modifications for the workouts. If there is ever a move or exercise you cannot complete, and I have not provided a modification, please modify as you see necessary and then provide feedback on what the move was, why you needed the modification (i.e. bad knee), and what you did to modify the workout. This is helpful feedback as we choreograph Geeknasium. Please also do the same if you feel you needed to advance the workout in any way (i.e. it was not hard enough for you and you felt you needed to add more).
Do I have to follow a specific meal plan?
No, with Geeknasium we are going to learn how to connect to our bodies in a way that no meal plan can provide. So we ask that you nourish yourself and fuel your body as you see appropriate.
What kind of feedback are you looking for? Where should I leave my feedback?
Geeknasium is looking for your gut reaction to the workout after it’s completed. Was it effective? Did you sweat, feel strong, love it, hate it? We are also looking for suggestions for improvements making it harder, easier, or however you feel it could improve. Or if you have suggestions on how to make it more Superhero themed. More like an immersive escape/experience. We appreciate any and ALL feedback.
You can post your feedback directly under the video in the group OR privately message/email me if you prefer to be discreet.
Do I need to take Before/After photos, measurements, weigh in, etc?
No, there is no need to weigh yourself or take before/after photos or measurements. The transformation I am looking for is in how you FEEL after 4 weeks, how these workouts impacted your relationship with your body or your mindset about exercise. Throw away or hide your scale for the next 4 weeks.
Am I allowed to do other exercises/workout programs while I am participating in the Geeknasium Test Group?
Yes, you may supplement these workouts with other programs/exercises as you see fit.
